In 2006 California passed HB 1925 which mandated that the state produce a report containing recommendations for how the state can develop parameters to accelerate the adoption of geologic sequestration strategies for the long-term management of industrial carbon dioxide. A first phase of that report is available in draft form. Finalization of the report is expected no sooner than 2010. Legislation is not expected to proceed until completion of the report.
