West Virginia looks at resources needed to support carbon capture, sequestration

December 10, 2010 (Ben Adduchio - West Virginia Public Broadcasting) One topic of major discussion at this week's West Virginia Energy Summit was carbon capture and sequestration technology.  

The state is looking into how this may play a part in the state's energy future.  The state has a working group investigating whether it’s in the public interest to advance this technology.

Stephanie Timmermeyer is chair of the group.

"It’s not just a coal-aimed technology. Any type of large facility that emits carbon dioxide could, not just our electricity generating plants, could potentially use this technology, if it’s developed a little more," she said. Read the full article here
